JOB SUMMARY
Join ONEOK’s growing legal team as an in-house attorney, where you’ll play a pivotal role supporting our Corporate Communications, Community Investments, and Government Relations teams. In this role, you’ll provide primary legal support to:
• Corporate Communications: Covering internal, external, and digital communications, including corporate brand management.
• Community Investments: Including corporate giving and the ONEOK Foundation.
• Government Relations: Providing strategic legal guidance and support on legislative and regulatory matters, political activities supporting the company's objectives, and potential legislative and regulatory changes and their impact on the company.

Job Profile Summary
Provides legal advice to the company based on analysis, experience, judgment and anticipated impact as is relevant to one or more assigned areas of responsibility.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Provide legal advice to the company on issues related to its business activities
Conduct legal research, analyze legal issues and interpret laws, regulations and rulings
Prepare and/or review legal and corporate documents
Interact with outside counsel and/or third parties
Maintain confidentiality of matters and satisfy standards governing professional responsibility/ethics
Manage the relationship of attorney to client that encourages company leaders to know when to contact the legal department, foster free and open communication of issues, and request prompt involvement of the legal department in matters
Education
- Juris Doctorate (ABA accredited law school) and admitted to practice in Oklahoma, or eligible to become admitted in Oklahoma, with current CLE compliance
Work Experience
3 - 8 years relevant legal experience and/or expertise
Experience in use and function of office equipment including computers and applicable software
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of: Level of Client Contact and Service - Routinely interacts with Company supervisors and managers. Occasional interaction with Company Vice-Presidents with general supervision
Knowledge of: Strategic Planning and Process Improvement Ability - Recommend and implement group initiatives
Knowledge of: Company and/or Industry - Possess strong working knowledge of clients’ business area-specific operations for assigned area(s) of responsibility and general knowledge of Company-wide operations
Ability to: Legal Analytical - Accurately identify and assess legal issues and risks for routine matters for assigned area(s) of responsibility and determine course of action for same with general supervision
Ability to: Independent Work - Works independently on routine matters with general supervision
Ability to: Internal Relationships - Ability to effectively work with all members of the legal department, including lawyers, contract administrators, paralegals, and/or legal assistants. Ability to review and provide input on work of Attorneys, contract administrators, paralegals and/or legal assistants
Ability to: Outside Counsel Relationships - Ability to work with outside counsel to achieve Company results. Responsible for monitoring outside counsel’s overall performance for assigned area(s) of responsibility, including review and approval of invoices and monitoring costs, and reporting same to supervisor
Ability to: Planning, Organizing - Responsible for managing assigned projects.
Ability to: Influence on Third Parties (outside counsel, opposing counsel, third party representatives, and governmental agencies as appropriate for assigned area(s) of responsibility) - Ability to conduct and direct complex negotiations for assigned area(s) of responsibility, with general supervisory review
Ability to: Written Communication (clear, concise and effective written communications, including emails, business letters and legal memoranda) - Proficient for complex matters relating to assigned area(s) of responsibility. Ability to prepare and assist in preparation of reports to Company Vice-Presidents with general supervision
Ability to: Oral Communication (effective one-on-one communications with outside counsel, and clients; conduct and participate in meetings; and prepare, conduct and participate in presentations to clients) - Proficient for complex matters relating to assigned area(s) of responsibility. Ability to participate in meetings and presentations to Company Vice-Presidents with general supervision. Ability to effectively communicate on behalf of the Company to third parties with general supervision

$146,000.00 - $218,000.00
