JOB SUMMARY

Job Profile Summary

Schedules shipments and deliveries to terminals and offlines within a scheduling area in accordance with system capabilities and shipper needs. Monitors tank volumes at terminals (and some offlines) in scheduling area to help manage system inventories. Works with internal stakeholders and customers to manage product flow throughout the pipeline system. Responsibilities include: develop product distribution schedules for all shipments into the system, taking into account asset utilization, power cost management, and transmix reduction; respond to emergencies by remaining on-call 24 hours a day; monitor terminal line activity, stock and loadings, adjusting schedules as needed to maximize throughputs. Maintain strong positive relationships with internal and external customers. Develop Quicksense reports to monitor customer movements and balancing between ONEOK operation systems. This position requires the ability to make real time, quick decisions that could have a moderate financial impact to ONEOK and to customers.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • A scheduler conducts required independent analysis in order to utilize the MAGIC scheduling system or other scheduling tools to develop a product distribution schedule for all receipts and deliveries within the ONEOK Pipeline system. The product distribution schedule is the primary tool used to communicate the transportation of products within the ONEOK Pipeline system to the Ops Control Center and the Operations.

  • Estimates the system terminal and 3rd party off-line daily demand for products in order to adequately extrapolate product demand by grade, batch size(s), and product sequence(s) required to meet the system terminal and 3rd party off-line demands, while minimizing call-outs, DRA usage, power use required to move the product, and transmix generation. Determinations are made by using various systems including ATLAS as well as the scheduler's judgement.

  • Directs the transportation of product shipments, to include specialty grades, within the ONEOK Pipeline system taking into account operational concerns, system infrastructure issues (temporary or long-term), hydraulic dynamics, and product quality standards that could impact supply and/or demand of/for products at a facility.

  • Makes immediate changes and adapts the schedule to emergencies and/or supply disruptions; this is on a daily occurrence. These changes can impact other areas; there is a low to moderate level of complexity (based on the volume of changes and the number of other areas impacted).

  • Manages the product movement schedule to accommodate tank, mainline and unit downtime for repairs, pressure testing or equipment installation with appropriate internal stakeholders to minimize the impact to operations.

  • Directs Field Operations to ensure that proper ticketing of shipments is accomplished; and, research and correct any discrepancies. Auto-Ticketing direction and instructions must be communicated to the Field Operations to ensure accuracy.

  • Prepares and oversees pump orders for Operations Control and Field Operations. The scheduler works to ensure that the product was moved, or will be moved, in consideration of the factors listed in the first responsibility.

  • Communicates, troubleshoots, and finds solutions in working with refinery and shipper personnel daily and update the shipment schedule as the refiners’ schedules change.

  • Provides recommendations to Field Operations on the utilization of the system tank farms in regards to blending, testing, and proper inventory management so as to ensure shipper product availability. At some locations, the scheduler may actually direct the utilization of the tankage.

  • Coordinates with the Quality Control and Operations the testing of all product to: 1) ensure Company quality standards are met,and 2) to maximize the ability of the Company to achieve GLO and Seasonal RVP goals.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree and minimum 2-5 years of industry experience

  • Must be able to adapt and respond quickly to changes, requests, or issues that could have system-wide impacts on inventory/supply if managed incorrectly.

  • Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and have a customer service focus.

  • Requires availability after normal working hours and contributes to the need for the scheduler to be on call 24/7.

Expected Salary Range

$75,000.00 - $113,000.00
